This is a full time hire opportunity in beautiful sunny Melbourne Florida for an embedded SW engineer with a focus on new complex, and interesting state-of-the-art product development for military applications. Your work will make a direct contribution to successful mission outcomes and the security of our country.
Primary & Essential Accountabilities
You will participate in all phases of the product development cycle, and your responsibilities will include:
Analyzing and communicating system and software requirements
Creating architectures and designs
Unit test, integration and system testing
Generating code releases that are correct the first time, exhibiting high reliability
Early manufacturing and customer support, eventual sustaining activities.
As part of a team, you will participate in technical discussions evaluating and executing design and development plans for a very interesting and a technically challenging project.
You will have direct influence on the decisions and outcomes related to project direction.
You must have a willingness to work on additional tasks and responsibilities that will contribute towards team, department, and company goals.
BS or MS in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering or related field.
8+ years of experience developing real time embedded software in complex systems.
Exceptional “C” language skills. Significant experience with ADA.
Good knowledge of cyber-security programming techniques.
Experience developing with various RTOSs and RTOS concepts.
Specific experience with VX Works. Preferred 6.9-7.0.
Experience with Ethernet protocols.
Ability to develop SW within the constraints of a rigorous development processes including the generation of requirements, design, and test plans and specifications.
Solid knowledge of configuration management tools such as Subversion and Git.
Excellent documentation, teamwork and personal interaction skills.
A drive for results, self-initiative, and exceptional integrity in all aspects of the job.
Active “Secret” security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Knowledge of emerging DOD cyber requirements and qualification processes.
Exceptional HW debug and board bring-up skills. Ability to read schematics, board designs.
Fundamental knowledge of Electrical engineering concepts.
Familiarity with UART, I2C, SPI, 1553 communications.
Expert knowledge in DOD cyber requirements and qualification processes.
Experience developing applications for ARM SOCs and small microcontrollers such as PIC and MSP430.
Developing of both application code and device drivers. Interfacing with peripheral devices and FPGAs. Familiarity with PCIE interfaces. Development of field reprogramming architectures and fail-safe reprogramming methods.
Experience with developing Real time embedded Linux.
Experience with Real time motion control.
Experience with Optical systems, image processing, video data stream formats, robotics.
Additional languages including C++, python, shell environments, scripting, MATLAB.
Operation of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers.
Experience with embedded systems utilizing either bare metal or multithreaded RTOS Operating system such as “Free RTOS”.
Other valuable skills:
Experience interacting with DOD customers and knowledge of DOD development processes, terminology and procedures.
Experience with embedded processors containing FPGA interfaces such Xilinx Zynq, Altera SOCs or similar.
Ability to effectively prioritize work and deliver results with minimal guidance.
