Title:Systems and Cyber Security Engineer

Position Summary: Responsible for the all aspects of cyber security development, documentation, and testing on integrated SONAR signal processing systems and supporting infrastructure. Interfaces with cross functional teams to develop cyber security solutions for system applications, operating systems, hardware drivers, and system services.

Duties and Responsibilities: The Cyber Engineer is responsible for performing tasks as directed which includes the following but is not limited to these tasks:

  • Develop or modify software application designs based on customer specifications and user requirements

  • Maintain and support existing operating systems baselines, packages and system services

  • Implement, integrate, and document software systems, subsystems, and services

  • Support software testing, installation, and integration activities

  • Demonstrate ability to complete a technical project independently and as part of a team.

  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with engineering, program management and the customer as required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and a minimum of two years of hands-on software development experience

  • Experience with LINUX OS configuration, operations and software development environments

  • Linux OS security

  • Experience with scripting languages (BASH, Python, Perl)

  • Distributed Systems Engineering experience

  • Understanding of modular software architecture design and system software integration implementation

  • Experience with full system software product life cycle programs including software design documentation, software test plan development and execution, system software requirements verification

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Security clearance

Additional Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Active DoD Security Clearance preferred

  • Familiarity with solving software compilation issues and OS package dependencies

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) experience

  • Cybersecurity Certifications (GIAC security expert, SECURITY+, CISSP)

  • Risk Management Framework (RMF) experience

  • Experience in developing, deploying and testing security solutions

Physical Requirements:

  • Lab environment

  • Lifting up to 25 lbs: up to 25% of time

  • Walking: up to 25% of time

  • Climbing, Bending, Standing, Stooping: up to 10% of time

  • Sitting: up to 75% of time

This position requires the ability to travel to various locations (up to 5% of time).

AAC works on a 9/80 compressed schedule whereby employees work 80 hours in 2 weeks with every other Friday off.
