Job Summary

Join our team as a Senior Test Engineer in Danbury, CT! The ideal candidate hired for this position will partner with technical experts throughout the company and be accountable for understanding customer needs and providing meaningful, proactive technical solutions. The Senior Test Engineer will perform requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, verification, and validation for automated test equipment, manual test program sets, as well as embedded diagnostic test applications. Job responsibilities include the ability to generate and/or modify test procedures and test fixtures for systems, assemblies and circuit card assemblies.

All candidates should have a solid understanding of electronics and software programming skills. Candidate must be available to work off shift and weekend hours when testing is in progress if needed.

What You Will Do

  • Analyze embedded military instrumentation and control systems to determine appropriate qualification and test methods

  • Design test environments including design or selection of test fixtures, test equipment, and components

  • Write detailed test procedures

  • Oversee execution of test strategies

  • Perform qualification testing

  • Create test summary reports on testing performed

  • Revise all test documents as required to address all customer comments

  • Provide Design for Testability input during designs reviews

  • Provide training and support to Manufacturing Test

  • Provide regular reporting of progress and status

  • Ability to work with little supervision and to work cooperatively with all personnel in the organization

  • Responsible for completion of assigned tasks on time and on budget while meeting technical requirements

  • Communicate clearly in all forms

  • Strong hardware troubleshooting and software debugging skills

  • Must be able to analyze complex embedded systems and create comprehensive test plans

  • Demonstration of proactive ownership of issues and problems

  • Supports, communicates, reinforces, and defends the mission, values, and culture of the organization

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of Electrical/Test Engineering experience required (less experience is acceptable when evaluated in conjunction with other basic qualifications; commensurate adjustment in salary range would be applied)

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related major

  • Familiarity with Nuclear Quality Assurance requirements, Specifically NQA-1 and 10CFR50 Appendix B, is a plus

  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills to aid communications within the engineering community

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint

  • Ability to work with engineering teams across product lines

  • Ability to multitask and be able to address multiple issues in parallel

  • Experience in support of manufacturing including but not limited to purchasing, quality control, manufacturing engineering and test

  • Experience with industrial communication protocols such as ProfiBus and CanBus

  • Familiarity developing automated test and measurement systems using National Instruments LabVIEW and TestStand

  • Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn

  • Candidates must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the US government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment
