DRS Naval Power Systems (NPS)a multi-site operation responsible for $350 million of revenue with locations in Milwaukee, WI, Danbury, CT, Fitchburg, MA, and High Ridge, MO with an employee base of approximately 900 employees. NPS is structured into four Lines of Business: Surface, Submarines, Nuclear Instrumentation and Controls and Marlo Coil focusing on supporting the power and propulsion needs of the U.S. Navy. We provide engineering, manufacturing and lifetime support of our highly engineered products.
Job Location:Danbury, CT
Performs administrative activities in support of the Engineering organization. Support engineering with engineering duties and/or hands-on tasks. May maintain engineering data bases; engineering files and labor costs. Examines records for completeness and accuracy. Acts as a resource for department needs in the areas of training, troubleshooting, and program or project coordination. May handle special projects with minimal or no management initiation or review.
*Duties and Responsibilities: *
Ensuring that Configuration Management (CM) and Data Management (DM) processes and procedures are fully implemented and are compliant with contractual and internal requirements.
Providing definition of all project documentation required for establishing configuration baselines by maintaining master records in a configuration database.
Controlling configuration baseline through the change management process for the life cycle of a product.
Reviewing and analyzing proposed engineering changes
Digitally signing and releasing ECO artifacts
Process Item Master Requests
Identifying, scheduling and coordinating all project data submissions.
o Process Test Data
o Process customer documentation deliverables
o Process drawing packages for suppliers
- Participates in periodic audits.
5+ years demonstrated experience in Configuration Management (CM).
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
Comprehensive knowledge of military and commercial CM requirements, specifications and standards.
Experience with the application of CM-related policies, procedures and tools.
Detailed knowledge of a Product Life Cycle (PLM) tool.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-disciplined teams.
Attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and writing skills
Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
Ability to structure Bill of Materials (BOMs)
Working knowledge of CMMI practices
Working knowledge of PLM and ERP principles
U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and retain a security clearance within a time period to be established by the Company
