DRS Naval Power Systems (NPS)a multi-site operation responsible for $350 million of revenue with locations in Milwaukee, WI, Danbury, CT, Fitchburg, MA, and High Ridge, MO with an employee base of approximately 900 employees. NPS is structured into four Lines of Business: Surface, Submarines, Nuclear Instrumentation and Controls and Marlo Coil focusing on supporting the power and propulsion needs of the U.S. Navy. We provide engineering, manufacturing and lifetime support of our highly engineered products.

Successful Contract Recruiter candidate will be responsible for the full-life cycle recruiting of hourly, admin and professional level positions including: posting positions, applicant flow, creative sourcing, pre-screening candidates, selection and candidate management. Develop innovative recruiting strategies to attract top talent for the Company. Ensure recruitment and selection processes are legally compliant and cost effective while meeting established metrics. Maintains accurate records and reports on all phases of the recruitment process.
*Duties and Responsibilities: *
Develops and builds relationships with hiring managers in order to better understand their business and the roles with the organization
Works directly with hiring managers to ensure understanding of job specifications and desired qualifications for each position
Partners with HR team to ensure organization’s talent goals are met including internal, external, diversity and early career hiring
Maintains accurate records in the Applicant Tracking System and may produce reports on all phases of the recruitment process
Participates in job fairs and college recruiting to source potential candidates and promote industry awareness
Leads recruitment and selection processes that are legally compliant and costs effective while meeting established metrics such as cost per hire, time to fill, etc.
Manages the candidate experience so that candidates have a positive impression of the recruitment process including, providing status updates, scheduling interviews, making travel arrangements, etc.
Conducts reference and background checks and prepare job offers
Schedules phone and in-house interviews including travel and other logistics
Schedule and/or conduct new employee on-boarding processes
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field with 3+ years direct technical recruitment experience required
Experience in a fast paced, high volume environment and a strong sense of humor
Proven knowledge of state, federal and EEO regulations regarding hiring practices is required
Demonstrated ability to creatively source candidates
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and highly developed interpersonal skills along with an extreme attention to detail
Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems for tracking and reporting
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Candidates must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the US government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:
Experience with training hiring managers in effective and legally compliant hiring techniques
Assist other team member with other HR generalist duties
