Supervisor Inventory Control
Responsible for supervising the company’s inventory control activities to ensure the efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing raw materials and finished products. Supervises employees involved in the physical movement of inbound and outbound shipments, including shipments to both domestic and international customers, and distribution centers and branches within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises the company’s inventory control activities to ensure the efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing raw materials and finished products.
Ensures the receipt and storage of products, materials, equipment, parts, accessories, and supplies. Monitors inspection of incoming items against orders for accuracy, completeness, and defects.
Arranges for the return and replacement of defective items.
Manages periodic and special inventories; accounts for inventory variances.
Schedules and coordinates the routing of incoming and outgoing shipments.
Assists with improvements in policies and procedures to promote efficiency, faster service, and lower costs.
Coordinates the transfer of products, materials, equipment, parts, accessories, and/or supplies between/among warehouses.
Ability to supervise a group independently.
Communicates clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required.
May participate in preparation of proposals.
Provides assistance to lesser experienced employees by communicating work priorities; providing assistance; verifying accuracy of work.
Mentors direct staff.
Responsible for staffing, conducting performance appraisals, training and developing subordinates, promotions, salary increases, terminations, disciplinary actions.
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of experience
Must be flexible and willing to move between tasks quickly and as needed
The ability to listen to others and to work well as part of a team
Excellent attention to detail, ability to manage own time effectively, produce work of the highest quality, and meet deadlines consistently
Experience with Mil-Spec-Packaging highly desired.
