Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Training Instructor II for our Bridgeton, MO facility. This position develops, tests, maintains, and delivers training programs and related materials in support of relatively complex products and procedures. This position will require travel domestic and international.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of training programs in support of the operation and maintenance of Department of Defense (DoD) customer equipment

  • Develops, tests, maintains, and delivers training programs and procedures

  • Develop formal instructional lesson plans, student guides, and student handouts in support of training courses

  • Update course documentation on a continuous basis to ensure timeliness and relevance

  • Assists in the state-of-the-art training processes including Computer Based Training (CBT) and Training Development Capability (TDC)

  • Travel to customer sites to conduct formal technical operation and maintenance training

  • Provides short notice, on-site, product support, troubleshooting and repair

  • Establish and/or review course content and objectives

  • Conduct training sessions and develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities

  • Regularly report progress and status of assigned task

  • Maintain measurement tools

  • Complete assigned task on time, within specified parameters of cost, and meeting technical requirements

  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required

  • May provide work leadership for lower level employees, including evaluating the effectiveness of their training presentations and programs

  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

  • Attend and participate in appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings.

  • Conduct task analysis

  • Mentor and coach less experienced instructors.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent of combined education and experience.

  • 5 years of relevant experience

  • Competent technical expertise and application domain knowledge

  • Willing and able to travel 10-25 % of the time

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
